Swimming With Sharks and Stingrays In Belize
For the second stop on this cruise, we went swimming with sharks and stingrays in Belize! We also did some snorkeling over a coral reef and learned about “Caye Caulker” aka “Split Island”. If you’ve seen my other website, then you might know about my bucket list “Melvin Maya’s Bucket List” and this stop allowed me to check off 4 things on that list!

After ALL that, we had lunch at the Lazy Lizard. This was organized by the crew on our excursion, when you leave Belize (by boat) and head to Caye Caulker, it’s about a 45 minute boat ride. During that time, they passed around food menus along with a little ticket to write your name and order. They dropped the orders off with the restaurant prior to us going snorkeling and swimming with the sharks, so once we got back, our food was ready within minutes of arriving back at Lazy Lizard. The food was decent, nothing special, but the view was amazing!
After lunch we made one last stop, we pulled around the back side of the island where there were a lot of tarpon and we hand fed them! You had to be careful how you held the bait fish so they wouldn’t snap your fingers! From there we headed back to the mainland to do some souvenir shopping and have a nice frozen drink.
Belize was beautiful! The people were friendly and kind and I would love to go back and spend about a week there.
