A Weekend In New Orleans
In April of last year I got to spend a weekend in New Orleans with my sister! She won the trip from her employer, Verizon Wireless, for being in the top 10 percent of her sales region. New Orleans is a quick flight from Houston, TX. Honestly, we probably spent more time in the airport than on the actual plane, haha. Once we arrived in New Orleans, we headed straight to Hyatt Regency to get checked in to our room and then we headed out to grab some lunch. After lunch, we went back to our hotel to check out the pre-party that was going on, courtesy of Samsung, Google and Motorola just to name a few.
From there it was time to get dressed up and head over to Generations Hall for the official party and celebration for everyone who placed in the top 10 percent! It was a pretty elaborate party, it was a masquerade theme, with performers, drinks and some really good food too! That party wrapped up with a performance from a band but it was still early, so after that we changed and made our way to Bourbon St. We hit a few bars but didn’t make it TOO late a night because wanted to conserve ourselves for the following day to do some sightseeing and souvenir shopping.
The following day we wandered all over the area from our hotel to Bourbon St. and everything in between! We saw some cool street performers, some the architectural buildings that stood out and enjoyed some more food and drinks throughout the day! After getting ins some rest at the hotel, we decided to head out again that night and we visited Harrah’s Casino! I played some roulette and managed to ride $20 for nearly 2 hours, at one point I was up about $140 but in the end I lost it all.
All in all it was a really fun trip and I’m thankful to my sis for letting me tag along!
